Registered Building Enclosure Consultant – RBEC®

The Registered Building Enclosure Consultant designation will be awarded to those who have earned the Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC), and Registered Exterior Wall Consultant (REWC) registrations. The RBEC title may be listed in addition to the other three consultant titles. While there are no fees or exam involved, individuals desiring this designation will be required to complete a form.

Once all three designations have been earned, contact Simone Patterson to request a form to apply for the RBEC designation.

Annual Renewal

To maintain this designation, the individual renewal fees for the RRC, RWC, and REWC must be paid and a total of 15 Continuing Educational Hours (CEHs) must be earned, annually. Individuals holding this designation will be required to sign a form to confirm that the annually required 15 CEHs have been earned from a combination of roofing, waterproofing and exterior wall courses.

The RBEC can be listed as a single designation, eliminating reference to the RRC, RWC and REWC designations. In this case, the renewal fee is a total of $400 for members, $500 for nonmembers. The renewal fee for the RBEC and the RRO is $500 for members and $600 for nonmembers.

Foundations Offer Student Sponsorship for 2024 IIBEC/OBEC BES

The RCI-IIBEC Foundation and RCI Foundation Canada are pleased to announce that they will be providing funding for full-time college students to attend the 2024 IIBEC/OBEC BES, September 29–October 1, 2024, in Toronto, Canada. Through the Joe Hale Student Sponsorship Fund, registration, hotel, and up to $750 USD in travel expenses are covered for students.

Edward Lewis Arnold, October 24, 1938–March 28, 2024

With heavy hearts and fond memories, we announce the passing of Edward Lewis Arnold, F-IIBEC, on March 28, 2024, in Southlake, Texas. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and esteemed Navy veteran.

Seen A Questionable Public Tender? Let Us Know!

During the 2024 IIBEC International Convention and Trade Show, the Advocacy Committee approved a new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document that will be posted later this spring. One of the FAQ answers provides members with guidance on steps to take when they see a questionable tender (i.e., an RFP or RFQ). The FAQ, which will be placed in “Advocacy” area of iibec.org, encourages members to send questionable tenders to procurement@iibec.org, along with a brief explanation as to why they believe the tender is questionable.
